Tenderness in the Heart of Turmoil

Being gentle with ourselves can be a daily struggle. Life can be challenging and it’s hard to stay in our hearts — soft, gentle and loving. But there is a muscle we can build that helps us navigate the inner and outer storms of life. Through the exercise of Self-Compassion, we can learn to be more tender with ourselves — even in the midst of turmoil.

A New Day

Rev. Jeanne reminds us that each new day holds the same infinite possibilities, the same potential and newness. But we get to choose how to live it – either being excited about the potential of a brand new day or dreading it. Often our view is colored by the stories we tell ourselves about change, and that can become the limiting factor. Change is constant, what’s different is how open we are to it. She asks are we willing to stay curious, and hopeful, and open to more fully experiencing and expressing our Divine purpose? She encourages us to answer “Yes”, and embrace this Brand New Day!

A Third Way

Rev. Jeanne explores the world of paradox, explaining that paradoxes are a fascinating lens to see through because they force us to examine the world from a different angle, with more nuance and multiple viewpoints. It’s up to each of us to cultivate the Paradox Mindset which means being willing to let go of our judgements and limited “either/or thinking,” and expand our views to hold the Big Picture – with its competing and often conflicting values. And most of all, to be curious – willing to be filled with wonder, to invite new imaginings and welcome new possibilities. That, she says, is the recipe for “Finding A Third Way.”
